New Ph.D. student Ben Brugman enters the mineral kitchen in January 2016!

Today Dr. Dorfman is at the Academia Sinica in Taipei presenting a seminar on spin transitions in Fe-bearing mantle bridgmanite!

Dr. Dorfman presented a poster titled “Iron-carbonate interaction at Earth’s core-mantle boundary” at the 2015 American Geophysical Union Meeting in San Francisco!

Dr. Dorfman presented physical properties of iron-bearing silicates in the Earth and Environmental Science Seminar Series at Wayne State University!

Dr. Dorfman presented a poster titled, “Electronic properties of iron in silicate glasses in the lower mantle” and chaired a session titled “Modeling the Mineralogy of the Deep Earth” at the 2015 Goldschmidt conference in Prague.

Breaking news: Dr. Dorfman has accepted a position starting Fall 2015 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at Michigan State University!
